Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

1. Purpose and Scope

The Global Source Network ("the Platform") is dedicated to maintaining a trusted, compliant, and professional marketplace for the global construction industry. This Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") outlines the prohibited activities and content standards for all Users (Buyers, Sellers, and Partners).

By accessing or using our services, you agree to comply with this Policy.

2. Marketplace Integrity & Anti-Circumvention

To sustain our secure environment and verified network, the following actions are strictly prohibited:

  • Fee Avoidance (Circumvention): Users may not use the Platform to identify a counterparty and then complete the transaction offline or on another platform to avoid paying Global Source Network commission fees.

  • Direct Contact Solicitation: Sharing direct contact information (phone numbers, email addresses, external websites) within public listings, Q&A, or initial RFQ messages to bypass the Platform’s communication tools is prohibited.

  • Shill Bidding: Sellers may not bid on their own items or employ associates to artificially inflate the price or desirability of a product or RFQ.

  • Price Fixing: Vendors may not coordinate pricing with competitors to manipulate the market.

3. Prohibited Content & Listings

Our reputation relies on data precision. We have a zero-tolerance policy for the following:

  • Falsified Documentation: Uploading altered, forged, or counterfeit Mill Test Certificates (MTCs), ISO certifications, or safety ratings. This will result in immediate permanent suspension and reporting to relevant authorities.

  • Inaccurate Technical Specs: Deliberately mislabeling products (e.g., listing Rebar as "Grade 60" when it is "Grade 40") or using misleading HS Codes to evade tariffs.

  • Prohibited Items: Listing materials that are illegal to sell, trade, or export under international law, or items subject to unapproved trade sanctions (e.g., OFAC lists).

  • Offensive Content: Posting content that promotes discrimination, harassment, or violence.

4. System Security & Data Integrity

Users must respect the technical infrastructure of the Platform:

  • No Scraping: Using bots, spiders, scrapers, or other automated means to access, harvest, or collect data (pricing, vendor lists, specifications) from the Platform is strictly prohibited.

  • No Reverse Engineering: Attempting to decipher, decompile, or reverse engineer any of the software or algorithms (including our Freight Quoting Engine) used to provide the Service.

  • Account Sharing: Sharing login credentials with unauthorized third parties to grant them access to proprietary pricing or RFQ data.

5. Professional Conduct

Global Source Network is a professional B2B environment.

  • Harassment: Abusive language, threats, or harassment directed at other users or Platform support staff will not be tolerated.

  • Spam: Sending unsolicited promotional messages, bulk emails, or irrelevant offers to other users via the messaging system.

6. Enforcement & Violations

The Global Source Network employs automated monitoring and human review to enforce this Policy.

  • Investigation: We reserve the right to investigate any reported violation of this Policy.

  • Sanctions: Violations may result in:

    • Removal of content/listings.

    • Temporary suspension of account privileges.

    • Permanent termination of the User account.

    • Forfeiture of funds (in cases of fraud).

    • Legal action and reporting to law enforcement/regulatory bodies.
